History
Our history curriculum is based on the requirements of the National Curriculum, with addition units taught across school to increase children’s understanding of the history of the area they live in, such as The Women’s’ Suffrage Movement and the impact of Bury’s John Kay and his flying Shuttle on the mechanisation of the textile industry across the world. The National Curriculum statements are broad and cover entire key stages, so our Curriculum Lead subscribed to the Historical Association to break them down and ensure learning is deep and builds on that of previous years.
