Year 4 Autumn 2

Useful information
Spellings are given out on a Monday for a spelling test the following Monday.
Year 4 PE is on a Monday.

In English we will be continuing a book study of ‘Fizzlebert Stump: The boy who ran away from the circus and joined the library’ by A.F. Harrold and work towards creating our own new character for the story. We will then be writing a missing chapter for the book!
After this, we will move on to looking at stories in an imaginary setting using the book ‘The Dragon’s Child’ by Jenny Nimmo.

In Maths, we will be learning how to find the perimeter of shapes before moving on to multiplication and division.
As children are expected to know all of their times tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of Year 4, we will regularly practise these. Any practise children can do at home would be of great help.

How is Christmas celebrated in other countries?
Towards the end of the term, we will be looking at how Christmas is celebrated around the world. Do you have a friend or relative abroad? Perhaps you find out if their celebrations are different to your own to help us with this topic.

We will be looking at coding in computing this half term.
